Why not to go Ombre

Ombre quickly become the HOTTEST hair trend, everybody is doing it, whether they are doing it right or not, everywhere you look, there's a girl with some form of Ombre hair. We have the exclusives on OMBRE, and why you should Opt OUT! We spoke to a bunch of salons, and even contacted a few models and actors. We've also included ways to achieve a similar look that's sexy and unique.

Vickie Santonio (Hair Salon Owner): Ombre trend has made my salon a lot of money, but I don't understand it, sure it looks laid back and undone, but it also looks lazy and unkept"
Ombre hair is basically roots growing out, what's so attractive about roots? The goal with ombre is to look low maintenance, and un-caring.. well ditch the comb then.

Josephina Barker (Model): "It may seem like a trend for the celebs, and the super models, but it's not really a trend in modeling. A model showed up to the same audition as me, with Ombre hair, which were done very well I must say, was sent home before she even auditioned, because the designer thought she could use the day to take care of her roots"

It may have been a thing on the runway, but it's out of style now, it's not there anymore. Instead get some beautiful low lights a few shades lighter than your hair, it will really add some luster and shine to your hair.

Jake Thomalson; "There's nothing I love more than a woman with ombre hair! It's mainly so me and my buddies can get a good laugh out of why a woman would pay to make her hair look like she can't afford some root touch up"

Ombre hair can be disastrous if done at home, and frankly most salon charge A LOT to have your hair ombred, since it's a process. So ditch the splurge on a trend, and get a gloss treatment, or lighten up your strands to look summer ready.
Elliotta Fikhai (actor); " I can't be a trend setter, I can only speak for myself, but actors should be blank canvases. Ombre must be great for a night out, but to walk into work with your roots all hanging out, you don't look very put together."

Ombre is actually pretty bad on hair, since the hair needs to be gradually lighter from root to ends, it's really a process to get your hair that way. think of the split ends, so save yourself and your hair and stick to something that looks sexy like a darker base color with tons of highlights. You can also invest in some extensions, and ombre those. Stick them in when you want to satisfy your craving.

Dolycia Brant (Hair stylist): "for the love of hair, please donot follow youtube videos when doing ombre. Google Ombre and look at the celebs, they donot have one tone colors, they have it all blended in. I've seen girls walk into my salon and ask us to fix their hack jobs of ombre hair, and we can't really do much without damaging the hair."

It's a trend, and it has passed I haven't seen that many celebs that rocked ombre having it now, so treat yourself to a more elegant look.

High school girls or not, if you are going on a date, keep it simple and sassy, every girl wants to impress their special someone with sassy styles. We put together some sassy styles for the girls, so almost all ages can get an idea of date worthy colors, and when they are acceptable.
(Movie Date)
- We dyed the hair chocolatey brown
- stick with an all over champagne color, with medium brown on the crease.
- Add a pop of color on the lower lashline with some color (Blue eyes- Brown, Green eyes- Purple, Brown eyes- Blue)
- Add white to the water line and tons of mascara and liner at the top.
- keep everything else simple, keep everything else neutral, stick to highlighters and tinted balms.

- keep your makeup classic, if you're going to a club, you wanna keep the face neutral, and the lips neutral, and add a sexy smokey eye to look sultry.
- stick to a sun kissed look with medium bronzer on the cheeks.
- A classic smokey eye for the eyes, with TONS of mascara.
- Nude LIPS

(Dinner and a Show)
- If you're going to a classy affair, try keeping the attention on the fabulous dress, stylish hair, and demure makeup.
- Foundation with a beautiful Golden Glow
- Opt for a neutral shimmer shadow and Highlighter on the brow Bone
- Thin liner and tons of Mascara/Falsies.
- Soft Pink Lips
- Nude cheeks or Bronzed Cheeks
- Well groomed eye brows are a MUST

(Bar Hoppers)
- A Cosmo here, a sex on the beach here, makeup should look fun and fresh especially if you're young, so when you're bar hopping, you wanna add a splash of color.
- Keep everything Neutral
- Add a strawberry tinted lip balm
- A sexy pink smokey eye, to really go Funky fresh.
Double Date Bowling
- Double dates are fun and a great way to connect with other couples, throw bowling into the mix and it gets a bit competitive. Keep the foundation matte, and add a bronzer to contour, and finish with a strawberry lip balm lipstick. Eyes should be NEUTRAL as they can be, We suggest opting for a light netural, and contouring the crease with some liner at the top and lots of mascara. Add some fun, and do a color blocking technique, adding a purple liner on the lash line, and blue liner on the waterline, you can really take the color blocking to extreme.

(Beach Dates)
- Beach dates are the most fun kind of dates, you get to party, make smores, and just frolic in the wet sands.
- Keep the look MINIMAL, because you dont want runny mascara, always opt for a tinted moisturizer or sheer cover foundation.
- Add a cream shadow in Champagne color, and set it with a bronzey brown eye shadow.
- Stick to waterproof liners and Mascara.
- A cream blush in rosy pink, and set it with a setting powder.
- Opt for a juicy pink lips.

(House Party)
- If you have to be at a house party with your date, do a classic smokey eye and pump it up with using a different color, stick to a sexy blue smokey eye and grab some attention. Sun kissed peachy cheeks, and nude lips.

(Picnic Dates)
- When you're around a beautiful park, with tons of flowers and soft sunlight.
- Go funky and do a sexy neutral smokey eye with Pinks. Add a violet liner and make it fun.
- keep the rest neutral, especially if you're going pink. Natural lip color is great, so exfoliate your lips, and put on a lip balm. Cheeks should be highlighted. Mascara is a must.

Dramatic Days to Edgy Nights

Denise Richards is beautiful regardless of what type of makeup she's rocking.

For day time, her blue eyes were smoldered with a mix of browns. If you use a a variety of browns, it creates an unmistakably gorgeous look. Stick with a lighter brown and darker brown liner to stay true to the day time look, end with a black mascara and or falsies. cheeks remain neutral with a hint of pink, with minimal contouring. soft pink for the Bombshell points.

To pump that look up for a night out, start out by contouring your cheeks more and keeping the cheek color fairly peachy.

Add a black liner on top and on the waterline to dramatize the look, along with some black shadow to set the liner. *add a dark multi dimensional blue JUST to the lids and blend it on the lids. DONOT go on the crease.* add some silver highlighter to the inner corners.

Nude lips, jet black Mascara and thats it.

*Get your hands on some washable dyes or tints, they are great for a limited time without damaging your hair*

Out of style files- Tan

Tanning has been a big phenomenon, it can be dangerous and addictive, yet people can give it up. Tanning was required to be a celebrity, or just a hometown hottie (regular girlies)

Tanning is now * SO OUT OF STYLE*

After Jersey Shore and Tanning Mom, I think the world has had enough of the tannaholics. the point of a tan was suppose to be sun kissed and glowy, it's not suppose to be Orange. Orange is for Oompa Loompas!

Be Sun kissed, not Orange.

be a Healthy and Safe tanner

You shouldn't be like 15 shades darker, try to stay 3-4 shades darker then your skin color at best.

Become a mermaid

Obviously mermaids are a fairytale, but there's one mermaid that takes the fairtytale, and brings it to reality.

Miss. Hannah Fraser is the epitome of beach beauty, she makes her own tails, and comes as close to a real one as it can be.

We've featured her on RBT before, so scroll back and checkout our nostalgic mention of the beautiful Hannah.

Being a real life mermaid requires a few things
- Self-Confidence
mermaids are beautiful, and they know it. Mermaids need all the self-confidence and more, most mermaids are meant to be self-obsessed.
 - Looks
If you don't have natural beauty, you're screwed. Mermaids love to pamper themselves, and spend lots of time adorned in the perfect *sea shells* and pearls.  Healthy hair, skin and body are a must, if you don't have that, try out for Ursula instead.
- Personality
Mermaids come in all different types of personalities, but a true mermaid has it all. She has star power, she's a diva and she's talented. She's the life of the party, shes competitive, and she does it all looking like a star.
- Makeup
Living under the water, and enjoying some time lounging around, mermaids would NEVER wear colorful eye shadows, like most Hollywood movies portrays..it would wash out. Mermaids are shimmery, from the gorgeous waters, to the beautiful pearls. Mermaids are sun kissed and basically Victoria's secret models in water and fish tails. Think tanned sun kissed healthy glow, with neutral browns and goldens for eye shadow, soft flushed cheeks, and soft pink lips, with lots of highlighter.
-Hair
Mermaids ALWAYS have beachy waves, so invest in sea salt sprays and tons of moisturizing products. You need all the moisture.
-Extra tips
Learn to swim
Save the Sea life, you're a mermaid hello..
Follow in Ariel's footsteps and have a singing talent or like her sisters acting talent.
Be a beach bunny
You have to ENJOY it, not just do it. It has to come from within.

Makeup for the Firey Fatale

Agent Red (Kourtney's red romper)

Kourtney rocks a gorgeous red colored jump suit and killed the event.

This red was PERFECTION for her skin, however we would rather Kourtney show some more skin, and opt for a shorter romper.

Kourtney kept it simple, instead of clunking on some jewellery.

- Kourtney rocks her beautiful kiss me red, with super soft and shinny waves, with soft makeup.

* Pick a red that works for you
* keep the makeup simple, if you're gunna chunk on some color
* Keep the hair down or put up in a sassy pony tail, with a romper
* Stay away from full length jump suit if you are shorter. Opt for thigh length rompers, they look sexier, and add the perfect summer touch.
